'ആ പ്രകാശഗോളങ്ങൾ അടുത്തുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.അവൾ അതറിഞ്ഞില്ല. സൈപ്രസ് വൃക്ഷത്തിന്റെ മറവിൽ നിന്ന് രണ്ടു മിന്നാമിനുങ്ങുകൾ ഒരേ അകലത്തിൽ മത്സരിച്ചു നീങ്ങുന്നതുപോലെ , എന്നാൽ വളരെ സാവധാനത്തിൽ അവ അവളുടെ പിന്നിലെത്തി. ഈ സമയം തെംസ് നദിയിൽ അസാധാരണമായ മൂടൽമഞ്ഞുണ്ടായി.അത് അരിച്ചരിച്ചു പൂന്തോട്ടത്തിലേക്കു കയറി.നിമിഷങ്ങൾക്കകം അത് ആ പ്രദേശമാകെ വ്യാപിച്ചു.'
