പ്രകൃതി സംരക്ഷണ ബോധം സമൂഹത്തില്‍ ശക്തമായത് കഴിഞ്ഞ നൂറ്റാണ്ടിന്റെ രണ്ടാം പകുതിയിലാണ്. ആല്‍ഡോ ലിയോപോള്ഡ്, റേച്ചല്‍ കാഴ്‌സണ്‍ എന്നിവരുടെ പ്രശസ്ത കൃതികളാണ് ഇതിനു തുടക്കം കുറിച്ചത്. ലിയോപോള്‍ഡിന്റെ 'A Sand County Almanac' എന്ന കൃതിയുടെ 20 ലക്ഷത്തിലധികം പ്രതികള്‍ ഇതിനകം വിറ്റഴിഞ്ഞു. 1949ലാണ് ഇത് പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിച്ചത്. 60 വര്‍ഷങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് ശേഷവും പ്രകൃതിസ്‌നേഹികള്‍ക്ക് പ്രചോദനവും ദിശാബോധവുന്‍ നല്‍കി ഇതിന്റെ ജൈത്രയാത്ര തുടരുകയാണ്. അനേകം ഭാഷകളില്‍ ഇത് വിവര്‍ത്തനം ചെയ്യപ്പെട്ടിട്ടുണ്ട്. |
