About Author :
Pranab Kumar Chattopadhyay is the Chair Professor, A.K. Dasgupta Centre for Planning and Development, VisvaBharati, Santiniketan. He obtained his M.A. from Jadavpur University and Ph.D. from the University of Calcutta. He also taught at the University of Burdwan. Professor Chattopadhyay in his credit has many research papers in journals and books with repute. He is the Coordinator of the UGCSAP (DRSI) of the Department.
Sudipta Bhattacharyya, Professor and Head, Department of Economics and Politics and Exofficio Director, AgroEconomic Research Centre, VisvaBharati, Santiniketan, West Bengal (India), graduated from Calcutta University and obtained M.Phil and Ph.D. from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. He has in his credit four books and many papers in peer reviewed journals like Cambridge Journal of Economics, Journal of Agrarian Change, Journal of Peasant Studies, etc.
Biswajit Haldar graduated from Narendrapur Ramkrishna Mission, Calcutta University and completed M.A. and M.Phil. at Centre for Economic Studies and Planning, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. His area of research is Poverty and the Indian Economy, Caste and Class Relations in India.
