The great heroic and adventurous life of great patriot Rash Behari Bose came to an end on the 21st January of 1945. It is very shameful that no effort has yet been taken to compile and publish total works of him though seventy five years have already passed off after his death. From this it is clear that he has gone into oblivion. We are going to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee of our independence. When the history of our freedom movement will be written we shall have to be very careful to see that Rash Behari Bose should not be underestimated.

Rash Behari Bose did not born with a silver spoon in his mouth. A tiny little son was born in 1886 on the 25th May to one Benode Behari Bose of Subaldah in the district of Burdwan at maternal uncle's home. The boy lived at Chandannagar where his father shifted from Subaldah at the age of 4 or 5 years. The boy lost his mother within a few years. In his childhood Niralamba Swamiji alias Jatindranath Bandyopadhyay appeared in Bengal with the message of militant Nationalism of Sri Aurobindo. He was influenced by Swamiji with after noted revolutionaries of Chandannagar.¹ At the age of 15 he joined the Suhrid Sammelani of Prof. Charuchandra Roy, an organization aimed at furthering the revolutionary activities in the country.
