Every year, hundreds of young enthusiasts join the Civil Services of India--the over-ambitious, the go-getters, the underdogs, the indifferent and the heroes. They are all here in this action-packed thriller, described with a deft hand and a witty bent of mind: the author’s forte. As a sinister plan to attack the nation is unravelling, we experience the romances, the sacrifices, the action and the monotony, the prizes and the perils. All of us have an imagined persona of a civil servant, so come, and get to know Who Are These People. Leena Nandan studied English Literature from Patna Women’s College and joined the Indian Administrative Service in 1987. From a young age, Leena was very fond of reading thrillers and murder mysteries, and spent many pleasant hours imagining her own plots. She soon put pen to paper and started writing for magazines and newspapers. Even with the rough and tumble of the demands of an IAS career in Uttar Pradesh, she found time to pursue writing. Leena’s multifarious experiences in the Service culminated in the publication of her first book 'How to Placate an Angry Naga: Finding one’s feet in the IAS' in 2006. Her second book 'Ten Days' was published in 2014. At present, she is a Secretary in the Government of India.
