Thinking is not a detached, objective reflection about the world and existence; it also seeks to intervene in the world and transfigure existence. For mere description of reality as it exists, and mere objective knowledge of the world as it has already become, does not satisfy the thinker who thinks, and who suffers in the battlefield of forces, powers and laws. Instead of abstracting eternity from its contamination with time in order to contemplate the truth of eternity in an inviolate way, the philosopher, on the other hand, must intensify temporarily itself to apocalyptically burst itself out of all possible closures in the messianic light of eternity which must come today, hic et nunc, interrupting and yet fulfilling time. This is the fundamental concern of these short articles that were written on various occasions. In all these works the immense question of messianic justice is pursued as the question worthy of thought, the question that truly marks the dignity of the human being as essentially social being.
