About the bookletters from a father to his daughter is a collection of 30 letters written by india's first prime minister jawaharlal nehru to his daughter indira gandhi in 1928, when she was 10 years old. The letters talk about natural history and the stories of civilizations. These letters are originally written in english when nehru was in allahabad and indira in mussoorie. During the summer of 1928, nehru, busily working in allahabad, decided to write letters to his 10-year-old daughter. In the several letters he wrote, he spoke vastly of history and civilizations. He wrote her on how earth was formed, how animal and human life came into existence, how societies and civilizations formed and many more of the similar vein. He then moves on to talk about races, faiths and beliefs that exists at the present and existed in the history. He talks about civilizations and labors, the birth of patriarchal society and the rules of kings and emperors.
