Pratibha Devisingh Patil is an Indian politician who served as the 12th President of India from 2007 to 2012. A member of the Indian National Congress, Patil is the only woman to hold the office.

An Inspirational Journey

Pratibhatai's life is a story for women to emulate. That she has effectively balanced her professional and personal life and emerged a winner on both fronts is there for people to see

She has had an illustrious political career which kept ascending progressively and steadily, till she reached the pinnacle; becoming the first woman President of India. Her participation at every stage has been laudable but never has she lost her equanimity; she humble attributes her accomplishments to the Almighty and to the populace of India.

Coming from a conservative family where education to women was imparted as a fabour, Pratibha Devisingh Patil not only fortified herself intellectually but went much beyond it she also empowered herself emotionally work effectively for women and the other disadvantaged sections of society. She thus emerges as a beacon of light for thousands of women within the country and abroad, who wish to follow suit.

Pratibhatai's journey so far has been eventiful and inspirational; her achievements large and varied, personal life so blissfully satisfying that it needs to be narrated : those who do not speak about themselves need to be spoken about
