The Government of India has decided to develop 100 "Smart Cities" in the country. The smart city means different things to different people. It could be smart design, smart utilities, smart housing, smart mobility, smart technology etc. The book Smart Cities Transforming India is the outcome of the contributions made by the delegates who participated in the national seminar held on 03 May 2015 at Uttar Pradesh Rajarshi Tandon Open University. The book highlights the various issues, challenges and opportunities of smart cities, and its relevance in the development of country.
