'This book explores the ways contemporary artists across India, and the global South, work with issues of gender in their art. Recent furore over three incidences of brutalization of women in New Delhi and Bombay prompted the inaugural class of curatorial practice at Jawaharlal Nehru University to highlight art's power to address and amplify urgent concerns, and to spotlight the broader context of historical and still prevalent gender-based violence.
